What is graphic design?

Why do you need graphic design?

Graphic design is an essential tool to enhance a brand’s visibility and presence in an artistic and creative manner. We come up with designs that not only grabs the attention of potential customers but connects to their emotions. Informative and visually appealing images are much more powerful than words alone. What do you mean by social media designs?

Social media platforms are things like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram etc. Most of these platforms include a profile photo and a cover/header image. We design these images to suit your logo and fit exactly within the platforms size specifications. We also design marketing banners for social media I.e. Facebook Ads, Instagram and twitter poster banners.

How does your design process work, from my initial enquiry, to completion of the job?

First, we will start all projects by thoroughly discussing the details of the project with you (design brief that can be discussed verbally / sent via email / Whatsapp) Essentially, we call this design brief.

3. When you are happy to start, an initial 50% deposit is collected before the project is started
4. Research, brainstorming, Initial concepts
5. Designing & Mock-up creation (if necessary)
6. Client review of design visuals (look and feel for your project)
7. Work revisions by client & finalizing of the project
8. Upon completion the final invoice for the remaining 50% is created, or total remaining balance if additional changes or features have been introduced during the project
9. Final files provided

What is the client involvement in the design process?

We listen to our clients from the start. We encourage you to bring in any samples, colour combinations/swatches, so we can have better understanding of your company/needs as well as your ideas, suggestions and expectations of the design. During the design process, the client might be asked to approve certain colours and fonts before work continues. Once the design project is complete we will send you mock-up (If necessary) for approval before sending final files with all required file formats.

How long will my project take to complete?

Completion depends on current work load and the complexity of your project. We will of course, always do our best to work within your schedule. Once we have agreed on a deadline, we will work night and day to ensure that all work is completed on time.

How do revisions work?

We will start off by giving you multiple design concepts (A Concept is simply an Individual Design. Presented to you as a 'Draft') Keep in mind that the design process is highly collaborative, so I will send you the initial designs, we will ask for your feedback to make the designs even better. Usually, clients ask to tweak colors, fonts and shapes. Sometimes, they even ask to combine the top half of one concept with the bottom half of another.

A completely new concept is not considered to be a revision.

How much does it cost to work with you?

It is a natural concern of every client to know their financial commitment before embarking on a project. We wish there was a simple answer to this, however design services are not so easily quantifiable, as requirement varies for each and every project.

Our design fee depends on the scope and needs of your project. We’re happy to provide a quote once we find out more about your design requirements, scope and specifications. Please contact us with your details. So, we can work with you to create a package that fits your needs and budget.

Can I get some work samples designed for my project before making a deposit?

Unfortunately, not. The deposit shows that you are serious and professional, if you are unwilling to make a deposit, we will have to turn the project down.

I run a small- or medium-sized business and want an online presence to promote my business. What's the first step?

You need a domain name, a Web server and a professionally developed website. You also need the website to be uploaded to your host and promoted to search engines. We can help you with all of this and get your website running.

Who writes the content for the site?

Usually that is you. You are the expert on your business, so it’s usually best if it comes from you. If you need help, we have a copywriter who can help clean up or write original content for you at an additional cost.

Will you maintain my site for me?

Yes, we can arrange a maintenance package that will suit your needs. We provide on-going support for most of my clients

How long will it take to get a new website?

On average, we shoot for a six to eight-week turnaround, but the pace of any project is set by each client. How much input you can provide during the initial stages, your availability with feedback, how soon the content is ready – all this affects the speed of completion. The functionality needs may also play a role – more complex sites will take more time to develop.

How long should my motion graphics be?

While some goals may warrant a variation, the majority of motion graphics should be 90 seconds or less. That’s because audiences love quick, bite-sized content. Once you get much longer than that, attention spans drop off – 120 seconds was found to be the upper threshold in one study. Communicating your message clearly and quickly is the best way to earn their attention and their trust.
